Great post. I know everyone is different. But how soon did you get back to Jiu Jitsu / rolling?

I took about 2 weeks off immediately after. And since it happened during the holidays I took days off just based on availability. I typically go 2x/week, i'd say I average 1/week during this time.

are you dealing with something similar?

7 days ago I felt a lock in my knee that was painful for 1 a second when I was walking after BJJ rolling and it was sore a for a few days after.

-I tested positive for 3/5 on the meniscus test (popping, joint line tenderness, Thessaly)

-My knee has been popping for a few months now when I squat but have never had any pain whatsoever and have always done squats with no issues

-I can do everything on the knee pain acute guide with no pain.

-Can still squat fine and dropped ~25% in weight, can do step-ups, hamstring curls, leg extensions with no pain whatsoever

-Just kinda sore still when I only do the Thessaly test but pain is maybe a 2 or 3 right now.

Too soon to get back into Jiu Jitsu and start flow rolling maybe?

yeah 7 days is pretty soon. thessaly's may take some time to not hurt, and for me that pain comes and goes. that's more a sign of just how much work you'e been doing, less about damage.

biggest things to look out for is 1) knee doesn't straighten full or 2) pain during the motion.

my biggest issue was I couldn't squat down, so max knee flexion was limited.

Got it. I rolled very very lightly luckily with no pain. But still was probably too soon.

Probably wait another 7-10ish days before giving it a go unless you think that’s too soon again.

Gonna keep ripping lower body weight lifting and increasing weight
